BREAKING NEWS | Applies to HVACs in your local market:
The Department of Energy is rescinding the regional AFUE energy standards for residential HVAC operators originally set to be enacted May 1, 2013. Your local HVAC and home service businesses are likely already aware of this.
UPDATE (FEBRUARY 20, 2013): This proposed settlement is still awaiting a final ruling by the court. Important to note that “… until the Court rules to make the settlement final, the new standards requiring 90% non-weatherized furnaces in the Northern region and the May 1, 2013, compliance date remain in effect.” An update from ACCA was recently posted on this case.
Stay warm out there!
